Dr. Charles H. Bloom, D.M.D.
Dr. Charles H. Bloom graduated from Edison High School in 1972, where he was a member of the National Honor Society and Captain of the Men's Tennis Team. He attended Lafayette College, Easton, PA, and received a BA degree with Honors in Biology in 1976 .He also earned 2 varsity letters in tennis at Lafayette .After graduating Lafayette, Dr. Bloom received an MSC in Biology from Baylor University, Waco, TX, in 1979. From there he entered a Ph.D. program in Zoology at Oklahoma State University. He remained at Oklahoma State for 2 years before matriculating at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1981, and received his D.M.D. degree from Penn in 1985. Dr. Bloom then returned to Texas to complete a General Practice Residency at the Olin E. Teague Veteran's Administration Hospital, Temple, TX. Upon completion of this program in 1986, he entered private practice with Dr. Hyman Weiss. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Weiss retired and Dr. Bloom took over the practice. In 1987, Dr. Bloom's wife, Dr. Gari Bloom, entered the practice upon completion of her General Practice Residency. Dr. Charles Bloom continued his formal education beginning in 1989, when he entered the post-graduate degree program in Prosthodontics at Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY. He completed this training in 1993 and continued as a part time faculty member at Montefiore's Department of Prosthodontics until 1997, while also maintaining his private practice in New Brunswick. In 1999, he switched hospital affiliations to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital New Brunswick, where he has continued to teach post-graduate residents as an attending instructor in the Department of Dentistry. Dr. Charles Bloom has also served as the team dentist for the Rutgers University Athletic Department since 1989. He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Middlesex County Dental Association, in which he served as President during 2000-2001. He also maintains memberships in the Academy of Osseointegration, American College of Prosthodontists, Academy of Sports Dentistry and United States Dental Tennis Association. When not plying his trade, Dr. Bloom enjoys spending time with his wife and children, Ali (7) and Mack (1), as well as playing tennis, basketball, reading about foreign affairs, fishing and birdwatching.

Dr.Gari G. Bloom, D.M.D.
Dr. Gari Bloom is a 1986 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine (U.P.S.D.M.) (where she met Dr. Charles Bloom). She spent the next year at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City where she completed a General Practice Residency program. In 1987 Dr. Bloom was part of the start-up team that oversaw the development of the dental clinic at the Eric B. Chandler Health Center in New Brunswick. She enjoyed serving as staff dentist and attending instructor for the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital dental residents at Chandler until 1994. Dr. Gari's Bloom's partnership with Dr. Charles Bloom dates back to 1987 - when they were married and began practicing dentistry together. Dr. Bloom was born in Brooklilne, Massachusetts, and grew up in Brooklyn, NY, spending summers on Schroon Lake in the New York Adirondack Mountains. Dr. Bloom graduated from Midwood High School (Brooklyn, NY) in 1977. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Brown University in Providence, RI, in 1981. Dr. Bloom then spent a year working on Wall Street before matriculating at the U.P.S.D.M. Dr. Gari Bloom enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, with particular interests in children's and family dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, and the management of the "reluctant" dental patient. Dr. Bloom keeps abreast of all the latest dental materials and techniques through dental continuing education courses and participation with colleagues in the county dental society and local study clubs. Dr. Bloom is a past president of the Central New Jersey Dental Study Club, a member of the Middlesex County Dental Society, the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry, in which she has achieved Fellowship status. When Dr. Bloom is not practicing dentistry, she enjoys spending time with family, including husband Charles, daughter Ali (age 7) and son Mack (age 1). She looks forward to returning to her hobbies of biking, cooking, traveling, reading and playing tennis when her family is a bit more independent!
